Life and Business Coaching

"Man is made or unmade by himself. In the armoury of thought he forges the weapons by which he destroys himself. He also fashions the tools with which he builds for himself heavenly mansions of joy and strength and peace."
(James Allen As a Man Thinketh)

Outside of our corporate programs, Corporate Spirit Australia also specialises in working with individuals to find their full potential both personally and professionally.

As professional personal and business coaches, we work with our clients on issues dealing with relationships, life decisions and career (choices), finances, and on their personal wellness. We take a holistic view of the individual looking at their work, values, personal needs and relationships with others so that they work together in synergy, rather than against one another.

Individual Coaching would be appropriate in the following situations:

· Putting together a life plan
· Finding ways to reduce stress
· Creating a life/work balance
· Improving relationships with others
· Improving self awareness
· Improving self discipline and motivation
· Improving health and wellbeing

Executive coaching

Coaching is often about helping people who have knowledge but don't, or don’t know how to translate it into behaviour.

Coaching is an enabler. Many executives simply need a sounding board, a confidant to discuss ideas and turn thought processes into action. Managers can find it difficult to talk to colleagues within the business without influencing the status quo, and generally, people outside of the business don't understand their unique situation and needs. Clients at this level may need guidance to remove a barrier that is holding them back or assistance with developing problem solving skills, or perhaps they just need to clear their minds and make decisions.

One to one coaching can develop powerful leadership skills and improve business performance. A development program can run from a few sessions to several months of ongoing, continuous development. Creating a long term relationship allows the client to focus on much longer term goals than they might normally explore. A long term relationship also allows for ‘specific needs’ coaching, for example fear of public speaking or making sales calls, conflict resolution etc.

Traditional classroom training can be difficult to co-ordinate, requiring several people to attend at one time. Coaching can be an extremely efficient development tool, offering a different way of interacting with the business, allocating time around the availability of key personnel or the critical nature of business objectives and addressing key issues in a very focused way. Coaching often acts as a catalyst, accelerating change. Results are sometimes immediately measurable.

Coaching is an interactive, collaborative, and sometimes directive approach to development and learning that is based on the client’s own skills, standards and goals. Rather than enforcing strict rules, an effective coach is one who can adapt easily, drawing on a wide range of disciplines, tools and techniques to help the client achieve success.

With our Business coaching, we provide our clients with strategies to help them set measurable performance goals, think through major decisions, manage career decisions, solve problems, manage relationships, communicate more effectively, motivate others, deal with work-related problems such as conflict, handle stress, improve presentations and negotiations – and much, much more. Our strategies are always focussed on utilising the client's existing skills and identifying their strengths, many of which are 'unconscious' to the client.

In the business environment, situations that might benefit from personal coaching include:

· A newly promoted manager who is having difficulty performing in their new role
· A potential manager needing to gain additional skills to best perform in their new role
· Individual relationship problems causing conflict or discord in the organisation
· Need to align management behaviours to a set of core organisational values

Unlike other styles of coaching, an element of counselling may be required, where the focus may need to be on working through the causes of personal crises and problems. In a business setting, coaching may also require management consultancy skills. Corporate Spirit Australia can provide all of these skills to our clients based on many years of corporate management, consulting, teaching and counselling experience.

We see coaching as a partnership between ourselves and you, the client. We help our clients break free of self-imposed limits, become clearer about their goals, be open to new approaches, and discover a powerful determination and sense of confidence to connect and to make things happen in their lives.
